Our history is a passion for me. I feel that we leave out so much information and huge gaps in the American story and it makes it hard for people to really understand that we are all intricately related as Americans. So I am attracted to historically based projects because we entertain and learn something at the same time. I just love that combination.

I am going to sing lesbian love songs and support gay rights no matter what. The rest is public relations.

I always try to honor a character by being honest and truthful to who they are, in spite of my own personality and beliefs.

There are brilliant out lesbians and gay men and bisexuals and transgendered people and heterosexuals keeping the fire of change alive. Not a day goes by when I don't feel grateful to them for their work.

I want word of mouth to be our biggest voice.

I meet so many people, but I don't know anybody.

The more confident one becomes, the less one needs all people to be the same.
