There's always a different energy when you're surrounded by a group of women creatives.

I was told to avoid the business all together because of the rejection. People would say to me, 'Don't you want to have a normal job and a normal family?' I guess that would be good advice for some people, but I wanted to act.

I am a creature of habit.

Don't rely on men but don't shun them either.

I was just always the girl that people would come and talk to about their problems, and I still am.

I remember being seven and asking my mom if I was as pretty as Monique [my best friend in grade school]. And with all the love in the world, my mom looked at me and said, 'Oh, honey, you're so funny.' So, she doesn't lie to me...she answers the question by not answering and instead tells me what she thinks is my greatest strength.

That's been my forever love affair - Mexican food. But yeah it has to be something savory or cheesy. I'm not tempted by sweets.
