I was in a community where we were out demonstrating. We were holding vigils against the Vietnam War, in - like, starting in around '67, I think, before it really exploded as a big movement.

Is there's always an idea that the party will continue the movement but that movement always dies inside the Democratic Party.

The Green Party provides the infrastructure, kind of the culture of watchdogging the electoral bureaucracy, and how you participate, how you get on the ballot, stuff like that which is very difficult to do unless you have billions of dollars.

Yet we have a voting system that forbids us from actually bringing our values into our vote, which is, in my view, quite a disaster.

All the more reason we need to stand up for our democracy now.
