Self-centered leaders manipulate when they move people for personal benefit. Mature leaders motivate by moving people for mutual benefit.

Needless to say, you can love people without leading them, but you cannot lead people without loving them.

Successful people...focus on the rewards of success: learning from their mistakes and thinking about how they can improve themselves and their situations.

When you are influential and highly respected, people tend to tell you what you want to hear, not what you need to hear. They are seeking your approval, or they flatter you. Unfortunately, this creates a gap between what you hear and reality. If you find yourself in that situation, you will need to work extra hard to get the people close to you to speak honestly into your life. And you will have to become highly intentional in observing and listening.

You can't move people to action unless you first move them with emotion. The heart comes before the head.

I think the hardest thing for a person is to know what those twelve things are that they need to work on that will bring the return of success to their life.

God doesn't move until we move first.
