Everything that comes together falls apart. Everything. The chair Iโm sitting on. It was built, and so it will fall apart. Iโm gonna fall apart, probably before this chair. And youโre gonna fall apart. The cells and organs and systems that make you youโthey came together, grew together, and so must fall apart. The Buddha knew one thing science didnโt prove for millennia after his death: Entropy increases. Things fall apart.
John GreenLet us go, through certain half-deserted streets, / The muttering retreats / Of restless nights in one-night cheap hotels / And sawdust restaurants with oyster-shells: / Streets that follow like a tedious argument / Of insidious intent / To lead you to an overwhelming question.../ Oh, do not ask, 'What is it?' / Let us go and make our visit"' 'I'm in love with you,' he said quietly.
John GreenI think one of the most important differences between us is that you are excellent at living in a way that is commensurate with your values, whereas I am not. For instance, I didnโt recycle until I watched An Inconvenient Truth and Iโm still sort of iffy on it. And also, I didnโt vote in 2000, even though I could have voted in Florida *hits self on head repeatedly* Ahh George Bush! Itโs all my fault! God! So stupid! *sigh* Letโs change the subject. Also, we have vastly different happy dances.
