Sin is what you do when your heart is not satisfied with God. No one sins out of duty. We sin because it holds out some promise of happiness. That promise enslaves us until we believe that God is more to be desired than life itself (Psalm 63:3). Which means that the power of sin's promise is broken by the power of God's.

Will I find spiritual communion with God sweet enough, and hope in his promises deep enough, not just to cope, but to flourish and rejoice in him?

We need a Savior. Christmas is an indictment before it becomes a delight.

Seek to see and feel the gospel as bigger as years go by rather than smaller. Never let the gospel get smaller in your heart.

God's greatest interest is to glorify the wealth of His grace by making sinners happy in Him.

Sanctification is a community project.

God created me—and you—to live with a single, all-embracing, all-transforming passion—namely, a passion to glorify God by enjoying and displaying his supreme excellence in all the spheres of life.
