Again, there are other things associated with these matters, all bearing more or less upon the same points. And it is quite as necessary for you to be tried as it was for Abraham and other men of God, and (said he) God will feel after you, and He will take hold of you and wrench your very heart strings, and if you cannot stand it you will not be fit for an inheritance in the Celestial Kingdom of God.

Our duty is to preach the gospel to all men.... This is what God expects of us

If we take good care of one another, God will take care of us.

God has given us a revelation in regard to celestial marriage. I did not make it. He has told us certain things pertaining to this matter, and they would like us to tone that principle down and change it and make it applicable to the views of the day. This we cannot do; nor can we interfere with any of the commands of God to meet the persuasions or behests of men. I cannot do it, and will not do it.

It is necessary men should be tried and purged and purified and made perfect through suffering.

If you do not magnify your calling, God will hold you responsible for those who you might have saved-had you done your duty.
