We may continue to expect the enjoyment of all the blessings of civil and religious liberty, guaranteed by the Constitution. The citizens of Illinois have done themselves honor, in throwing the mantle of the Constitution over a persecuted and afflicted people.

Shall we not go on in so great a cause? Go forward and not backward. Courage, brethren; and on, on to the victory!

No man can receive the Holy Ghost without receiving revelations. The Holy Ghost is a revelator.

Trust in God, always take care of each other.

The Mayor, Aldermen and Councilors of the City of Nauvoo, IL, before entering upon the duties of their office, shall take and subscribe an oath or affirmation that they will support the Constitution of the United States, and of this State and that they will well and truly perform the duties of their offices to the best of their skill and abilities.

My Brethren if thou endure thy trials well though shalt be exalted.

Take away the Book of Mormon and the revelations, and where is our religion? We have none.
