Inevitably it's going to cause some terrible misogynist backlash, and I assume we'll look forward to eight years of jaw-droppingly sexist statements - the way we listened to eight years of racism around the presidency. It will be an argument before it's a conversation. But at least it's being had.

Tonight sucks. And look at me. Look at - look at stupid Buffy. Too dumb for college, and-and-and freak Buffy, too strong for construction work. And-and my job at the magic shop? I designed 'Buffy' to be an icon, to be an emotional experience, to be loved in a way that other shows can't be loved. Because it's about adolescence, which is the most important thing people go through in their development, becoming an adult.

I'm a very hard-line, angry atheist. Yet I am fascinated by the concept of devotion.
