Do not call procrastination laziness. Call it fear.

There will be many times when we won't look good-to ourselves or anyone else. We need to stop demanding that we do. It is impossible to get better and look good at the same time.

Possibility is far more frightening than impossibility.

In dance, in composition, in sculpture, the experience is the same: we are more the conduit than the creator of what we express.

Creativity is God's will for us and should be practiced like any other spiritual practice -a day at a time.

Left to it's own devices, writing is like weather. It has a drama, a form, a force to it that shapes the day. Just as good rain clears the air, a good writing day clears the psyche. There is something very right about simply letting yourself write. And the way to do that is to begin, to begin where you are.
