I always say about acting: the audience doesn't come to see you, they come to see themselves. So if you're able to give them an experience where they feel, 'Oh, my gosh, that's me, that's my story, they know!' then you've done your job.
Julianne MooreI wouldn't be an actor if it weren't for the English teacher I had my junior year in high school. She's the one who told me I could be an actor. I had never met an actor, I had never seen a real play, only high school plays. I didn't know actors were real, that it was a real job.
Julianne MooreI don't really care if people like a character ornot; I think in life we don't always like everybody. But you haveto be able to understand them.
Julianne MooreApart from anything else, I got to work with Jennifer Lawrence. Sheโs a lovely girl. I know people often say things like that in interviews, but she really is. While she may be young, she doesnโt feel at all precocious. Instead, sheโs smart and funny and terrific at connecting with people. She just blew me away.
Julianne MooreI would be lying, if I said that sometimes it is just a job that you show up for because you're getting paid, and that's important, too. But, if you can be in a state of mind where you enjoy your job, whether it's just a job, or it's actually cathartic for you, or it's something personal. I think it would be much easier to be content with doing a good job.
