In their greatest hour of need, the world failed the people of Rwanda.
Like any large organisation, public or private, the UN is a complex machine.
If one is going to err, one should err on the side of liberty and freedom.
We need to keep hope alive and strive to do better.
Terrorism constitutes a direct attack on the values the UN stands for: the rule of law; the protection of civilians; peaceful resolution of conflicts; and mutual respect between people of different faiths and cultures.
Justice has taken its course and the authority and legitimacy of the legal process must be respected.
