Why would I want anything that's private to become entertainment for other people?

I feel like nowadays everyone perceives you the same way. You can't even have a private life away from your family; it's like everything is very hands-on!

This weird thing happens when you're in a movie that has some level of success. People start offering you all kinds of things, and they just expect you to do them because they'll be good for your career. It's not about the project's integrity or anything like that.

Don't let other people's conversations about what you're doing or you've done be part of your own conversation.

I've actually always been interested in following a character more long term, but the only place to really do that as an actor is on a TV series.

There are certain things in 'Twilight'... As much as I'm proud of that movie and I do like it, I feel like maybe I brought too much of myself to the character. I feel like I really know Bella now. But most readers feel like they know Bella because it's a first-person narrative.

Acting is such a personal thing, which is weird because at the same time it's not. It's for the consumption of other people. But in terms of creative outlets and expressing yourself, it's just the most extreme version of that that I've ever found. It's like running, it's exertion.
