Whoever is capable of knowing when they have had enough will always be satisfied.

Those who advice the ruler on the Way, do not want the world subdued with weapons.

He that humbles himself shall be preserved entire. He that bends shall be made straight. He that is empty shall be filled. He that is worn out shall be renewed. He who has little shall succeed. He who has much shall go astray.

One who lives in accordance with nature does not go against the way of things but moves in harmony with the present moment.

It is better to do one's own duty, however defective it may be, than to follow the duty of another, however well one may perform it. He who does his duty as his own nature reveals it, never sins.
