Jesus didn't mean this as a sweeping command for everyone who has a lot of money. Jesus meant this for any of us who wallow in whatever abundance we have. I imagine Jesus looked straight into this young man's soul and said, 'I want you to give up the one thing you crave more than me. Then come, follow me.'

Satan wants anxiety to hinder us from becoming effective servants of Christ.

I want my kids to head out the door full of peace, not the echoes of my frustrations.

We are made for the same home and power that raised Christ from the dead.

We were made for more than compromise. We were made for God's promises in every area of our lives.

My imperfections will never override God’s promises. God’s promises are not dependent on my ability to always choose well, but rather on His ability to use well.

Keep your eyes on the Master, because He knows things we do not know!
