And in the case of superior things like stars, we discover a kind of unity in separation. The higher we rise on the scale of being, the easier it is to discern a connection even among things separated by vast distances.

Keep reminding yourself of the way things are connected, of great relatedness. All things are implicated in one another and in sympathy with each other. This event is the consequence of some other one. Things push and pull on each other, and breathe together, and are ONE.

The cucumber is bitter? Then throw it out. There are brambles in the path? Then go around. That's all you need to know.

As for life, it is a battle and a sojourning in a strange land; but the fame that comes after is oblivion.

Our anger and annoyance are more detrimental to us than the things themselves which anger or annoy us.

I seek the truth...it is only persistence in self-delusion and ignorance that does harm.
