It is not the body, nor the personality that is the true self. The true self is eternal. Even on the point of death we can say to ourselves, "my true self is free. I cannot be contained."

Objective judgement, now, at this very moment. Unselfish action, now, at this very moment. Willing acceptance - now, at this very moment - of all external events. That's all you need.

Take away the complaint, 'I have been harmed,' and the harm is taken away.

You should banish any thoughts of how you may appear to others.

What springs from earth dissolves to earth again, and heaven-born things fly to their native seat.

Only to the rational animal is it given to follow voluntarily what happens; but simply to follow is a necessity imposed on all.
