There is a dichotomy between people who feel economic principles should order human civilization and people who believe humanitarian principles should order human civilization. That essential disagreement is underlying practically all our world drama.

To appeal to God is to appeal to the action of universal love. Love never fails to come when we call to it, but it will always seem to fail us when our bidding is self-centered. The most powerful prayers are simply for God's will to be done, because God's will is healing for all living things.

My father was a deeply committed humanitarian. He was a fighter for social justice. He was spirited in the deepest sense.

You don't have to pray to attract great things, because great things are attracted to you already. Pray that you won't throw them away once they get here.

The love is what's left at the end because it's the bedrock, fundamental reality that gets hidden all the time, but never really goes away.

Angels are thoughts of God--to pray to an angel is to look to a level of pure thinking, divine thinking, and to ask that it replace our thoughts of fear. (Page 27.)
