There is no greater gift to future generations than that we do the work God has asked us to do: love one another, that the world might be made right.

Usually we try to figure out what we think would make us happy, and then try to make those things happen. But happiness isn't circumstance-de pendent. There are people who have every reason in the world to be happy who aren't. There are people with genuine problems who are. The key to happiness is the decision to be happy.

We don't ask God for too much; in fact, we ask for too little. Turn to Him for everything. Give everything to God.

When somebody comes up to you and shows you yellow underlining of something you wrote, that's such a high. It's a connection to others.

If you allow yourself to deepen with midlife, your experience of everything deepens, including your experience of God.

The issue is that we, with our fears, our attacks, our judgments, our blame, and our constant emphasis on the realm of the body rather than the realm of love, eclipse the experience of true love.

Love is what we were born with. Fear is what we learned here.
