Once you know that every moment and every person and every situation has something to teach you, you're a student all day. You know it's the depth of your observation that is the issue - not how much the world has to show you.

I think the vast majority of Americans would have supported military action to stop the second plane from hitting the World Trade Center, if that had been possible. I would have been among them.

The choice to be used as an instrument of love, right here, right now, is a choice for personal empowerment.

It can take years of tears to melt the hardness that develops in this world, covering our tender, gentler inner selves. Those who honor those tears, and even honor them, are not failures at love but rather its true initiates. First the pain and then the power. First the heart breaks and then it soars.

The teenager begins to realize he or she really does want to be part of a community, really does want to have good relationships with others, really does want to create something truly good with his or her life. The teenager comes to understand just being smart and just being privileged are not enough.

If we do not like what we see in the world, we must face what we don't like in ourselves. As we change, the world will change with us.
