I come from this really small town near Nashville, Tennessee, where everything was la-di-da and normal.

I think I am a pretty good sister.

I have four shelves covered with journals that I've written. Dad and I are writing songs together. I've probably written 100 songs.

The biggest moments of insecurity come when all self-confidence is lost and you feel like people are watching and judging. It should be the opposite. You should feel like the people who are watching care about you. This is something we can try to give each other – the feeling that eyes signal support, not disdain.

You know, I've made my money. If no one buys my album, cool. It's fine. I've got a house, and I've got dogs that I love. I don't need anything else.

Every career thing I do can't be perfect and sometimes my decisions are wrong.
