What we are is serious. And you see us in action, so it's not in personas. It's in actions and it's what we do. And that's why Russia was left on an island when it came to Syria. Everyone else isolated them with their connection with Bashar Assad and Iran.

I was never that kid that wanted to be in politics. What happened was, I graduated with a degree in accounting. I came back home to the family business. I saw how hard it was to make a ­dollar, and how easy it was for the government to take it. And my mom said, "Quit complaining about it. Do something about it."

I think that Russia is very aware that they are on notice when it comes to certain issues. Assad is not going away, but we're not going to stop beating up on him. We're not going to stop saying that the way he treats the people in Syria is wrong, that he has actually killed his own people and America will never stand for that.

Do things that are uncomfortable to do. I say that because women tend to step back from things that they don't know about. And the second, most important, one is, push through the fear.
