Every great power, every aggressive power has always regarded itself as exceptional and as doing things only for the most moral ends.

Like other organisms, humans have a certain genetic endowment (apparently varying little in the species, not a surprise considering its recent separation from other hominids). That determines what we call their nature.

People who call themselves supporters of Israel are actually supporters of its moral degeneration and ultimate destruction.

There has to be spiritual transformation among the masses, who have to be willing to recognize that their oppression is not a law of nature. That's what the civil-rights movement did here. That's what the women's movement did.

The Second World War ended with a radicalization of the population in the United States and everywhere else, and called for all kinds of things like popular takeovers, government intervention, and worker takeovers of factories. Business propagated a tremendous propaganda offensive. The scale surprised me when I read the scholarship - it's enormous, and it's been very effective. There were two major targets: one is unions, the other is democracy.

I've been interested in the reports on Rojava. It seems clear that there are positive developments.
