We feel that we have to be right so that we can feel good. We donโt want to be wrong because then weโll feel bad. But we could be more compassionate toward all these parts of ourselves. The whole right and wrong business closes us down and makes our world smaller. Wanting situations and relationships to be solid, permanent, and graspable obscures the pith of the matter, which is that things are fundamentally groundless.
Pema ChodronWhen we resist change, itโs called suffering. But when we can completely let go and not struggle against it, when we can embrace the groundlessness of our situation and relax into itโs dynamic quality, thatโs called enlightenment
Pema ChodronWhen we are willing to stay even a moment with uncomfortable energy, we gradually learn not to fear it.

Pema ChodronThe happiness we seek cannot be found through grasping, trying to hold on to things. It cannot be found through getting serious and uptight about wanting things to go in the direction we think will bring happiness. We are always taking hold of the wrong end of the stick. The point is that the happiness we seek is already here and it will be found through relaxation and letting go rather than through struggle.
