All the classic bands that have been around forever, they came up gradually.

There's nothing weirder than when your band finally gets big and you're playing sold-out arenas and you're selling millions of records, and you dread being a part of it all. It wasn't some master plan to go solo. I was just like, I would rather do my own thing, be happy, and have it be ten times less popular. That was really it. It just wasn't fun, the stress.

[Writing scripts] I'm not looking to jump in and make super mainstream movies. I still like to make movies that I like to see.

When you can program your own life, you're just going to program what you already like. Because of that, people's taste becomes much more narrow-minded.

I think it is good escapist entertainment even though it's bad.

I don't like the fact that people are supposed to think horror movies have a way things should go. I always try to do the exact opposite of what people expect and want.

There`s always the trick with anything what`s a remake. Like how much do you want to make that is brand new and how much to you want to keep that is original?
