I grew up on a Christmas tree farm with all this space to run around, and the [freedom] to be a crazy kid with tangled hair.

In high school, I used to think it was "like sooooo cool" if a guy had an awesome car. Now none of that matters. These days I look for character and honesty and trust.

Since I was old enough to understand what a songwriter/producer is, I've had a curiosity about how Max Martin creates what he creates. I wanted to see that happen. I wanted to be there. I wanted to learn from him.

I don't think there's such a thing as falling in love too easily or falling too fast. Or loving someone too soon or trusting someone too soon... I've never treated two relationships the same. Some people move you and some people don't.

For me, genres are a way for people to easily categorize music. But it doesn't have to define you. It doesn't have to limit you.

I think that as you grow up, as you get older, we can't get bitter, we can't get jaded.
