I see the collapse of the Soviet Union as a great tragedy of the XX century.

I will not offer my thoughts on what Japan could and should have done, this is none of my business, it is the business of the Japanese leadership. Democracy is an internal subject of the developing society. There are fundamentals of democracy, and they should be understood universally in different countries.
