When I was a boy I was called a nerd all the time โ because I didnโt like sports, I loved to read, I liked math and science, I thought school was really cool โ and it hurt a lot. Because itโs never ok when a person makes fun of you for something you didnโt choose. You know, we donโt choose to be nerds. We canโt help it that we like these things โ and we shouldnโt apologize for liking these things.
Wil WheatonThe goal isnโt to make something everyone will love; the goal is to get excited, and make a thing where something wasnโt before.
Wil WheatonIf you enjoyed making a thing, and youโre proud of the thing you made, thatโs enough. Not everyone is going to like it, and thatโs okay.
Wil WheatonI donโt know what the future of my career holds, but I know that whatever is over the horizon, the road Iโve traveled to get here is like those Interstates in Texas: everything can look the same, and it can feel like youโre not going anywhere, until you suddenly get where youโre going and realize that youโve been traveling for a long time.
Wil WheatonSometimes, a person who likes your work and a person who donโt will show up within milliseconds of each other to let you know how they feel. One does not need to cancel out the other, positively or negatively; if youโre proud of the work, and you enjoyed the work, that is whatโs important.
