We are proceeding on the basis of common values. We have more to gain from partnership, from promoting our partnership in dealing with the big global challenges. I, therefore, believe that in the near future, not much is going to change in the relations between E.U., Greece and the United States of America. These are relations that were forged under very difficult conditions and rely on the common values of our people.

We will do whatever we could do to keep Greece inside the euro and inside Europe.

The verdict of the Greek people renders the troika a thing of the past for our common European framework.

Greece and the Greek people have recently had to deal with the harshest consequences of the global and European economic crisis. As an economy and as a society, we have had to experience a program of disastrous austerity which made the problems more acute instead of resolving them.

Austerity is not part of the European treaties; democracy and the principle of popular sovereignty are.

The insistence of European leaders to austerity policies keeps the European economy strapped in stagnation.

The Greek people not only relate to the ancient traditions, they have fought, they have shed blood, until recently, to defend the values of democracy and freedom.
