When I was growing up I wanted to adopt, because I was aware there were kids that didn't have parents. It's not a humanitarian thing, because I don't see it as a sacrifice. It's a gift. We're all lucky to have each other.

I'm not somebody that thinks about destiny and fate, but I don't walk away from it when something unfolds.

I collect books, and I love libraries. I love bookstores. And to me meeting a writer is important. And when I saw a book with my name on it I almost passed out.

I never like being touched, ever. People used to say I held my breath when they were hugging me. I still do.

If I make a fool of myself, who cares? I'm not frightened by anyone's perception of me.

When those who have the opportunity to speak to those politicians they must do so and if one doesn't have that opportunity to speak directly, they can still speak indirectly and it can be heard.
