Now, as a nation, we don't promise equal outcomes, but we were founded on the idea everybody should have an equal opportunity to succeed. No matter who you are, what you look like, where you come from, you can make it. That's an essential promise of America. Where you start should not determine where you end up.

I can't really characterize any country, except to say that we work well with a number of our foreign counterparts.

We have to focus on how do we ensure the economy works for everybody, and not just a few.

Our environment is too important to neglect and it's time for the federal government to focus on real solutions and live up to their promises.

We can't, you know, use our military to make sure the planet doesn't get warmer. And so that kind of leadership, of being able to bring people together, to apply practical commonsense solutions based on facts, based on science, based on what works you know, that's been the approach I have taken consistently as a public servant. That's the kind of style that I think we need in the presidency right now.
