I think the irony ... is that I actually would like to see a relatively light touch when it comes to the government.

If everybody who voted in 2008 shows up in 2010, we will win this election. We will win this election.

The future is ours to win. But to get there we can't just stand still.

We think of faith as a source of comfort and understanding but find our expressions of faith sowing division; we believe ourselves to be a tolerant people even as racial, religious, and cultural tensions roil the landscape. And instead of resolving these tensions or mediating these conflicts, our politics fans them, exploits them,and drives us further apart.

We may come from different places and have different stories, but we share common hopes, and one very American dream.

The Holy Koran tells us, 'O mankind! We have created you male and a female; and we have made you into nations and tribes so that you may know one another.'

Sticking your head in the sand might make you feel safer, but it’s not going to protect you from the coming storm.
