Now is the time for all of us to take our share of responsibility for a global response to global challenges.

If we are truly created equal then surely the love we commit to one another must be equal as well

We are not a nation that says, 'Don’t ask, don’t tell.' We are a nation that says, 'Out of many, we are one.' We are a nation that welcomes the service of every patriot. We are a nation that believes that all men and women are created equal. Those are the ideals that generations have fought for. Those are the ideals that we upheld today.

If [black] nationalism could create a strong and effective insularity, deliver on its promise of self-respect, then the hurt it might cause well-meaning whites, or the inner turmoil it caused people like me, would be of little consequence.

I have nothing to hide. I enjoy being myself. I'm not going to change who I am just because it's Halloween.

The United States is not, and never will be, at war with Islam.

The future must not belong to those who slander the Prophet of Islam
