There's a lot of days where you feel forgotten.

I grew up in the suburbs and basically associate the suburbs with cultural death.

I don't think '90s music was as significant as '60s music in terms of changing the world, but it was significant, and I think it was similarly disillusioning when you realize the mainstream just views it as like a curiosity.

What bothers me is when music becomes entertainment. Of course, music is supposed to be entertaining, but go back to any period of time - music had a cultural significance on different levels, whether it was folk music, it was the news of the village, or it had to do with the rites of passage.

And the world so hard to understand is the world you can't live without.

When you move artistically, the natural inclination is to denounce everything that's gone before.
