World belongs to humanity, not this leader, that leader or that king or prince or religious leader. World belongs to humanity.

Human satisfaction must ultimately come from within oneself.

If you shift your focus from oneself to others, and think more about others' well-being and welfare, it has an immediate liberating effect.

When we talk about global crisis, or a crisis of humanity, we cannot blame a few politicians, a few fanatics, or a few troublemakers. The whole of humanity has a responsibility because it is our business, human business. I call this a sense of universal responsibility. That is a crucial point.

It is not enough to be compassionate. You must act. There are two aspects to action. One is to overcome the distortions and afflictions of your own mind, that is, in terms of calming and eventually dispelling anger. This is action out of compassion. The other is more social, more public. When something needs to be done in the world to rectify the wrongs, if one is really concerned with benefitting others, one needs to be engaged, involved.

Unlike physical progress, which is subject to natural restrictions, the qualities of the mind can be developed limitlessly.

When you practice gratefulness, there is a sense of respect toward others.
