Joy is uncaused and arises from within as the joy of Being. It is an essential part of the inner state of peace, the state that has been called the peace of God. It is your natural state, not something that you need to work hard for or struggle to attain.
Eckhart TolleYou can still achieve certain things through effort, struggle, determination, and sheer hard work or cunning. But there is no joy in such endeavor, and it invariably ends in some form of suffering.
Eckhart TolleThe thinking mind can be so noisy that it cannot relate to stillness. It doesn't even recognize it and certainly can't remember it.
Eckhart TolleHow do you let go of attachment to things? Donโt even try. Itโs impossible. Attachment to things drops away by itself when you no longer seek to find yourself in them.
Eckhart TolleBeing is accessible to you now as your own deepest self, your true nature. But don't seek to grasp it with your mind. Don't try to understand it. You can know it only when the mind is still. When you are present, when your attention is fully and intensely in the Now, Being can be felt, but it can never be understood mentally.
