To call someone a Christian simply because he does some Christian-y things is giving false comfort to the unsaved.

We live in a relativistic culture, where people are more con- cerned with being liked than being truthful. He gives us an example of how to take a bold and educated stand on issues of race, purity, and God's sovereignty.

It hit me that the students were talking about me, not God. I was standing before a holy God and robbing Him of the glory that was rightfully His.

The irony is that while God doesn't need us but still wants us, we desperately need God but don't really want Him most of the time. He treasures us and anticipates our departure from this earth to be with Him-and we wonder, indifferently, how much we have to do for Him to get by.

Obsessed people are more concerned with obeying God than doing what is expected or fulfilling the status quo. A person who is obsessed with Jesus will do things that don't always make sense in terms of success or wealth on this earth.

He does not have to know us so well, but He chooses to.
