Take the level of dedication that anyone had to get to the top in any field, and apply it to self-discovery. Except that when you get to the top of anything else, it washes away. You will die. The only thing that stays with you forever is your awareness.

At the end of your life you will probably end up in an old-age home, or in a back room in one of your children's houses, left only with a handful of fading memories and a body racked with great pain and suffering.

A categorization implies a hierarchical way of seeing things. Life is really relational, not hierarchical. Hierarchical is a human way of looking at things. Relational is much more the way things are. Everything is connected.

We experimented and we experienced many altered states of awareness. We used the power plants. I did that for a year or two.

To be afraid of our next life because we don't feel we've done a good job with this life is not wise. It creates unhappiness now.

A long time ago individuals looked at life and saw that most people aren't happy. They saw this was obviously an inefficient system. So they combed the universe and found immeasurable happiness inside of us, our spirits.

In pranayama you don't worry about taking breaths, you focus on exhalation. If you exhale properly you will inhale. The more deeply you exhale the more deeply you will inhale.
