I think that in the American film industry - or even in the European cinema - movies are made not to disturb any kind of class or any kind of minority.

In French you say, "I'm alone against the world" and that means "I hate everybody and everybody's against me."

The French movies that are promoted abroad are the ones that give a trendy, cultural, petit bourgeois, upper class image of France, but it's true that people who are poor in France are the same in New York or in India.
