Just as treasures are uncovered from the earth, so virtue appears from good deeds, and wisdom appears from a pure and peaceful mind. To walk safely through the maze of human life, one needs the light of wisdom and the guidance of virtue.

If one is the master of oneself, one is the resort one can depend on; therefore, one should control oneself of all.

From craving is born grief, from craving is born fear. For one freed from craving there's no grief- so how fear?

Let us live most happily, free from hatred in the midst of the hateful; Let us remain free from hatred in the midst of people who hate.
