True and lasting inner peace can never be found in external things. It can only be found within in. And then, once we find and nurture it with ourselves, it radiates outward.

Whatever a monk keeps pursuing with his thinking and pondering, that becomes the inclination of his awareness.

Everything is changeable, everything appears and disappears; there is no blissful peace until one passes beyond the agony of life and death.

Don't give way to heedlessness or to intimacy with sensual delight - for a heedful person, absorbed in jhana, attains an abundance of ease.

Believe only what you yourself test and judge to be true.

Let the disciple cultivate love without measure towards all beings. Let him cultivate towards the whole world, above, below, around, a heart of love unstinted....For in all the world this state of heart is best.

The virtuous man delights in this world and he delights in the next
