In my leadership conferences, pastors ask, "Do you have a vision for my church?" Many times they want me to give them a picture of where they should go and what their church should look like. When these pastors do this, I always feel bad.

I think passion gives you the energy to do what is right, and discipline makes sure you do what is right. So I look at them as kind of cousins maybe.

Leaders should get out of their comfort zone but stay in their strength zone. When their work lies within their natural gifting and strengths, leaders experience the greatest return in productivity and contentment. Life is too short to live in the comfort zone, where growing and accomplishing and achieving your potential takes a back seat. I suggest you refocus if the comfort zone is your leadership priority.

The person with a plan, a picture, will go after thoughts that add value to their thinking.

People may teach what they know, but they reproduce what they are.

The best relationships are win-win. Why don't more people go into relationships with that attitude?

There are a lot of pastors who have a vision and have not yet seen it become a reality.
