I've always wondered, am I a writer who preaches or a preacher who writes? I don't know. I love them both.

The engagement of the heart in worship is the coming alive of the feelings and emotions and affections of the heart. Where feelings for God are dead, worship is dead.

God is love precisely because He relentlessly pursues the praises of His name in the hearts of His people.

One of the great enemies of hope is forgetting God's promises.

The deepest need that you and I have in weakness and adversity is not quick relief, but the well-grounded confidence that what is happening to us is part of the greatest purpose of God in the universe - the glorification of the grace and power of his Son - the grace and power that bore Him to the cross and kept him there until the work of love was done.

All that looks like reality to us is dependent on God. There is creation and Creator, nothing more. And creation gets all its meaning and purpose from God.

Be glad in the Lord and receive willingly from His Hand all that he designs for my holiness - both painful and pleasant.
