I'm happiest when I'm just hanging out with my friends... it really doesn't matter what we do.

After “Melancholia” and “On the Road,” I wanted to do a comedy. And I did so many comedies when I was younger, but if you’re not consistently in those movies, people don’t always think of you for them.

I don't live in the spotlight, and I don't live my life in front of the paparazzi. I live very comfortably and quietly as possible.

It'd be nice to feel that claustrophobic feeling or the anxiety that the film Melancholia produces, but for me I look at it and think about what I was doing that day, where we shot it... It's kind of like a weird memory. It's more a photo album of memories than being able to feel connected to myself. It's not easy to do.

I try not to do scenes a certain way, because then I become conscious of it, and it dosen't come off as realistic. I try to make it so that I'm not really aware of what I'm doing.

Madonna is my role model shes such a powerful woman. I love Gwenyth Paltrow, shes an actress I aspire to be like. And, of course, my mom. She drove me from New Jersey to New York every day for commercials so I could get where I am today.

When I was younger, I always did movies that teenagers would watch, not adults. I did 'Crazy/Beautiful' or comedies like 'Bring It On.'
