For most actors, it's such a struggle to get work. Once they have it, they feel that there's an enormous amount of pressure on them to make it work, and have everyone love them.

I can only play characters that I feel like are real people and in a complete way and in such a whole way that if I fake any aspect of it I will have failed them and literally they're slaughtered.

My family is just embarrassingly proud of me. My brothers get a little protective... overly protective. I've made rules now where I say: "You can't go outside and scream at people if they have cameras!"

And I like to keep whatever is mine remaining that way. It's a funny little game to play and it's a slippery slope. I always say to myself I'm never going to give anything away because there's never any point or benefit for me.

People don't really recognize me often. I think I just look different in person or something. I'm also not very approachable, and maybe they're just like 'Ooohhh, she's scary!'
