I go outside, and I'm wearing a funky T-shirt and my hair is dirty, and people say, 'What's wrong with her? She needs to invest in a hairbrush.'

I learn a lot with actors that I don't think are good. Every experience shapes you. I've had experiences with actresses - and I say actresses because there's just a woman thing - that have achieved what she's achieved, by means that I can't understand.

I just want the fans of the book to be happy. I don't necessarily care about anyone else.

The strangest part about being famous is you don't get to give first impressions anymore. Everyone already has an impression of you before you meet them.

It's funny: By putting up walls, you think you're protecting yourself, but you get to live less. There are certain things in 'Twilight'... As much as I'm proud of that movie and I do like it, I feel like maybe I brought too much of myself to the character. I feel like I really know Bella now. But most readers feel like they know Bella because it's a first-person narrative.
