He (the Sage) does not show off, therefore he shines.

If you want to accord with the Tao, just do your job, then let go.

Knowing ignorance is strength; ignoring knowledge is sickness.

My words have an origin. My deeds have a sovereign. Truly, because people do not understand this, they do not understand me.

No thought, no action, no movement, total stillness: only thus can one manifest the true nature and law of things from within and unconsciously, and at last become one with heaven and earth.

Fine words are traded. Noble deeds gain respect. But people who are not good, why abandon them?

The Tao that can be told is not the eternal Tao. The name that can be named is not the eternal Name.
