I've definitely had the experience where I was pursuing someone for a long time that I just obviously did not connect with, so I was always, kind of altering myself for her. But then you realize it's just not worth it. What's the point?

I know what it means to be Jewish, and I don't think someone who wasn't Jewish would really understand.

The Goonies' is classic. That's, like, the movie I bring with me if I go out of town for a long time, because it just makes me think of the best times I've seen it with my friends growing up. Dude, everybody knows that movie, everybody watches that film. Best family film ever made.

Jews took it very seriously to marry other Jews and repopulate the Jewish bloodline, and my father's generation gets very serious in my household when they're like, "You have to marry another Jew," because that's still kind of the mentality coming from the baby boomers. So I know that type of pressure.

You would assume that a filmmaker should know how to edit, but pretty much every filmmaker I've worked with doesn't know how to edit.

Film is a collection of many mediums and collaboration and you're only as strong as the people you're working with - and everybody owns their mediums.

I'm always in the theater seeing everything, good or bad.
