I'm not a vampire movie fan, per se. That's not to say that I haven't enjoyed movies with vampires in them.

I like the physical challenge. It's fun for me.

I went back to China and did a movie in Mandarin, and I don't speak Mandarin, so I learned it phonetically. Now, when I'm on set and somebody gives me English lines, I'm like, "Are you kidding? What's happening? This is amazing!"

When you come to America, it's a very serious thing. It's not like you arrive and they say, 'Hey, come on! Do movies!' I can't just be hopping around. I have to focus and be still and make sure that I put the time and effort in. Because if I don't, I could lose it like that.

I don't think you can be successful in television without appealing to women. I don't think it's possible. I think that men like women. It doesn't really matter what they do - they love anything. But women don't necessarily like every woman, so I think that's a challenge to get the female audience to not only relate to you but also like you.

J.J. Abrams is a director with no ego. He is a director who has a very consistent attitude when he's at work. He's funny, he's brilliant, he's a combination of all these really great things. J.J. is the kind of person who sees the bigger picture before anybody else does. It sounds simple but not all directors do that.

As women, I think it helps that we are complex creatures by nature so just being a woman helps to understand a woman's journey.
