I can't be the big star in the family. We have a family, and we are all equal.

I grew up singing in Kansas. My dad had a band when I was growing up. So I sang in church and school and started singing with his band when I was seven. So I've been singing all my life.

I like the creativity of planning a party, or cooking and taking care of people, creating a memorable meal or event.

Honestly, I just have to do what's right for me, and what I would tell people is what I believe, which is that tolerance is very important.

I believe everything in moderation. But breakfast is important. I have two hard-boiled or scrambled eggs with whole-wheat toast and try to get some fruit in there.

What I would like my legacy to be is that of a person who took good care of her family and sang some songs that made a difference in some way. I hope I'll be remembered as somebody who was always down to earth and who handled her career and other people with honesty, integrity and class.
